The challenge
High dropout rates and inadequate resources in government schools. The challenges of life for parents in vastis generally causes them to focus on day-to-day survival, sometimes at the cost of their children’s education.
Our goals
- Ensure each child in the vastis regularly attends school
- Improve school environment so that every child is given the opportunity to learn
- Increase parent and community participation in local government schools
Our initiatives
Enroll migrant and dropout students
Strengthen School Management Committees (SMCs), which engage parents in their childrens’ educational experiences
Conduct life skills education programs for students in grades 5-8, giving them the tools needed to face challenges and carry out daily activities
Our impact

Enrolled 630 migrant and dropout children in schools
Strengthening SMCs in 145 schools, leading to enhanced school infrastructure, including repairs and cleanliness drives
